Senate Bill 796 which became effective on January 1, 2012 under Welfare and Institutions code 4139 makes it a misdemeanor to deliver to a patient in a State Hospital any of the following items:

  1. A cellular telephone or other wireless communication device, or any component thereof, including, but not limited to, a subscriber identity card (SIM card) or memory storage device.
  2. Tobacco products.
  3. Money, in excess of the limitations and restrictions adopted by the state hospital.

Patton State Hospital holds a Quarterly Neighbors Meeting which is open to the public. The purpose of this meeting is to give the hospital an opportunity to discuss with the local neighbors upcoming hospital events and changes. The public will also be able to ask questions and regarding any of their concerns. The meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of each Quarter (unless otherwise designated below) at PSH in the Executive Director's Office, Administration Building, Room 103A.  The meeting starts at 7:30 in the evening.
