Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5402 requires the DMH to collect data on a quarterly basis from each county mental health program or facility on the number of involuntary detentions, the number of temporary and permanent conservatorships established, and the number of persons served while in detention in a jail.
This website includes forms and instructions for reporting, annual data and a trend report. Annual tables will be updated as counties and facilities submit complete reports.
Contact: For questions regarding involuntary detention reports and statistical information, please call (916) 653-6257 or e-mail Kenneth Lee at kenneth.lee@dmh.ca.gov
