DMH Work Groups for Health and Human Services Agency Medi-Cal Redesign Stakeholder Process
Governor Schwarzenegger, in his proposed budget for FY 2004/05, announced his intention to seek federal approval to redesign Medi-Cal in order to contain costs while avoiding deep cuts in eligibility of benefits. The types of changes under consideration represent fundamental changes to Medi-Cal. As part of the redesign process, the California Health and Human Services Agency solicited stakeholder input on the State's proposed changes and suggestions for new ideas for the program. For specialty mental health services, there was an additional stakeholder Input Process to develop strategies for specialty mental health services to include in the overall stakeholder process.
As a part of this stakeholder process,
the Department of Mental Health (DMH) was asked to
facilitate stakeholder input on issues specific to
specialty mental health services and provide recommendations
to Medi-Cal Redesign workgroups. Throughout the process,
two meetings were convened. Agendas, handouts, and
highlights of each meetings was posted as they concluded.
