Background

In order to fulfill the requirements set forth in the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), the California Department of Mental Health (DMH) must identify and collect specific data regarding mental health services provided using MHSA funds. To achieve this goal, DMH has created a workgroup, "MHSA Information Technology Workgroup," comprised of representatives PDF Icon from the various mental health service groups to assist in the implementation of the IT data collection processes for MHSA reporting. This implementation will involve changes to the Client and Services Information (CSI) System as well as developing a new collection system for Full Service Partners Baseline/History and Key Event Information. The new Data Collection and Reporting (DCR) system is in the process of being rolled out to counties as they complete their training and infrastructure readiness preparations.
